ALUMNI Partners advises The GBFoods on sale of its Russian business

ALUMNI Partners have successfully advised The GBFoods S.A on selling its Russian and CIS production and distribution business to HYSG Group.

With a turnover of EUR 1.3 bn (2021), The GBFoods is present in more than 50 countries in Europe and Africa. The company has a diversified portfolio of culinary products, including the famous Gallina Blanca bouillon cubes. The company is part of the Spain-based Agrolimen Group, one of Europe’s biggest food producers.

HYSG Group is part of the South Korean HY Group, which produces beverages, dairy and seafood, instant noodles and snacks in South Korea, Russia, Vietnam and the USA. The company also owns the Doshirak brand. In 2020, HY Group’s revenues were USD 1.8 bn.

The target company, Europe Foods GB, had been owned by The GBFoods since 1998 and produced bouillon cubes, powders, seasonings and pasta at its factory in the Nizhniy Novgorod Region. With this transaction, HYSG Group will continue producing instant food products at the enterprise but under a new brand.
